Policy
Trinity Academy is dedicated to providing a quality education in a loving Christian atmosphere where the Word of God is honored, and the Lord is glorified. The Bible tells us to "Train up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it" (Pr 22:6). Loving, firm, fair, consistent discipline promotes a child's healthy, well-balanced, responsible growth. Discipline is an opportunity to teach and train the child, reinforcing Christ-like values, and de-emphasizing secular views. Since discipline is an integral part of a child's development, the school and home MUST be in complete accordance concerning the method and application of it. School rules are clearly explained and consistently enforced by the staff. Respect for these rules correlates directly to the student's respect for the school, staff, parents, peers and themselves. Respect is both personal and material. A violation to one generally violates the other. Verbal Conduct Our children are bombarded by improper language through all media and we see a growing tolerance even in the Christian community. In our efforts to raise our children up in the way of the Lord, we do not tolerate vulgar, obscene, unpleasant, disrespectful, oppressive, threatening, derogatory, offensive or discriminatory expressions. Psalm 19:14 tells us to "Let the words of my mouth, and the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O Lord, my strength, and my redeemer". We believe verbal expressions have a direct relationship to a student's conduct and attitude. Our goal is not to isolate the child from the realities of the secular world, but rather, to make him/her sensitive and aware of the surroundings. We want him/her to be offended when he/she hears improper language, especially when it is spoken in a "matter of fact" manner. We want our children to be the "buck stop" for this dangerous trend and the instrument for a rebirth of Christian values in our society. Dress Code Trinity Academy does not require uniform. However, we believe very strongly that a person's choice of clothing is a direct reflection of his/her character. Therefore, we endeavor to help the student develop a proper appetite for clothing that projects an honorable outward appearance. Although Trinity Academy may be a bit more conservative than some families might prefer, we've tried to find a reasonable balance between an image that glorifies Christ and one that is preferred by popular demand. Accountability Christ-centered
accountability is one of the most important qualities we expect a
student to learn at Trinity Academy. Just as for every action,
there is an equal and opposite reaction; for every act, there is a
consequence -- sometimes positive, sometimes negative. |
